Infrastructure upgrade project at Eco-centre Tepla Gora—laying foundations for continued development.
Tepla Gora Transformations (2022) upgraded essential infrastructure at the Eco-centre "Tepla Gora" in the Carpathian region. This project laid the foundations for sustainable infrastructure that continues to evolve.
Scope of work: water supply systems; fossil-free energy (solar, wind, batteries); energy-efficiency improvements; reduced dependency on centralized utilities—especially critical as nationwide blackouts began in late 2022.
Tepla Gora hosts the humanitarian programme "Kolo," supporting 500+ refugees, veterans, and war volunteers in recovery—making reliable energy and water infrastructure essential for continuous operation.
The infrastructure work completed here forms the foundation for the UA Unity Hub project. The new dome hub and expanded systems will build upon and significantly improve what was established during this initial phase.
Technical Report
Wind Power System
Horizontal-axis wind turbine rated at 4 kW nominal capacity with 4-meter rotor diameter. Site assessment included 2 years of wind speed monitoring, with installation location optimized based on research findings.
Geological survey conducted for tower installation. Foundation uses re-purposed prefab concrete blocks to reduce the project's CO₂ footprint.
Solar Power System
Photovoltaic panels with inverter and battery storage for off-grid operation. System designed and installed on-site.
Water Management
Rainwater harvesting system captures precipitation for non-potable applications. Separate water purification process for drinking water. Storage facilities ("Water Lab") installed on-site.
Lab testing compared rainwater against ground-based water sources—results showed excellent quality, validating the harvesting approach.
